Scout Camp

I got back from scout camp and I got six merit badges! I got Environmental Science, First Aid, Canoing, Basketry, Leathworks, and Indian Lore! and sorry for not posting anything for a while I was on trek and then Scout Camp so I've been busy.

Pioneer Trek

On Tuesday at 5:30 am I'm leaving to Wyoming to go on a pioneer trek. Were going to be walking a lot and were going to wear pioneer clothes. I'm pretty excited for it and I hope I have a good time.
Each person on this Trek is trekking for a ancestor or a person who was a pioneer. I'm trekking for William Bown Sr. I'm so excited!

Swiss Army Knife

I have been looking for a good pocketknife the past few weeks for scout camp. I had heard that swiss army knifes are the best so are starting look for one. I found a really good deal on a nice pocketknife on Amazon. It's called a Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife. It's really nice and it has a bunch of functions. It also has a ball point pen and a magnifying glass which most pocketknifes don't have. Here are some pictures of it.

Crystal Experiment Continued

It's been a few weeks since I've followed up on my crystals. I've been waiting for crystals to grow but it took awhile. Not many have formed but little ones have grown on the string. They are hard to see but they're there. The water hasn't gone low enough for crystals to grow on the rocks but in the end some will have grown. Also some of the rocks have turned blue and I don't know why. I hope I did this right and I hope it works.

Happiness

Claymation

I went to San Francisco about a week ago and I had a great time. One of the fun things I did there was make claymation movies at the Zeum. The Zuem is a place that has a ton of fun stuff for kids to do like claymation, make music videos, photo shop, and tons of other fun stuff. Here's one of the videos I made with my twin sister Gwyn.

Harry Potter 6

I, like many of you, am extremely excited about the new Harry Potter movie. The movie was originally going to be released in November but was delayed in til July. I was disappointed but I am excited to see it on July 17th with my extended family and my mom. The movie looks great and I've found out a few things about the movie that are surprising.
This movie will be the first one since the third to include quidditch. Quidditch is one of the many unique things about the harry potter universe and it made me sad that they left it out in the 4th and 5th. The Dursleys will be left out of this movie as they were left out of the fourth. Many characters have been cut and some of the include: Kreacher, Dobby, Bill and Fleur, Rufus Scrimgeour, Cornelius Fudge and the Muggle Prime Minister.
Also Dumbeldore's funeral was removed (sorry for the spoiler) and the end battle.
Early reviews of the film have been very positive and I'm extremely excited to see it!

Cops

I can't ride my dirt bike in my neighborhood anymore. I can't even ride it in the entire city limits because there's a dumb law that says you can't ride motorized vehicles on the property of Eagle Mountain. :( It least the cop didn't impound my bike.

Injury

A few months ago I went on a a winter camp. At night the temperature reached (or lowered) to 15 degrees. So in the morning all the snow was frozen. But I still still wanted to sled I went ahead and hopped on a sled. I reached extreme speeds and I put a hand down to slow myself down (bad idea!) and of course my hand was cut up. I toppled off my sled and held my hand in pain. My pinky was all cut up and I went back to camp to get patched up. I got some gauze on my pinky and went to get medical tape to keep it on but it was so cold the tape was frozen! But as you can see from the picture I eventually got it worked out.

Homemade Crystals

I have started a small project in my room. I'm making crystals with rocks, alum, and food coloring. To start out my blog I'm going to follow their development. I just put my project together today and no crystals have been formed. The picture at the top is my experiment!
